This love story begins the way any modern-day love story does. On the internet. Jason was living in the Lehigh Valley, and Rachael had just graduated from her bachelor’s at Kutztown University. She had already committed to going to the University of Colorado for her Master's in Public Administration. Rachael moved out to Colorado in the fall for school, and they lost touch over the years.
In the height of the COVID 19 Pandemic, Rachael moved back to Berks County PA to be closer to family. Rachael and Jason reconnected. They took turns driving the hour and a half between where Jason was living in Northampton and Rachael was living in Reading. Eventually they begin seeing each other almost every weekend and started introducing each other to friends during the summer of 2021.
In September of 2021, Rachael accepted a position as the Housing Advocacy Director at the local domestic violence program in the Lehigh Valley. This meant that their hour and a half commute to see each other would become about ten minutes. This shortened distance allowed their relationship to develop on a much deeper level and they grew inseparable.
Rachael and Jason should have gotten engaged New Years Eve 2022. However, Jason got sick with the flu on December 30th. Instead, they got engaged January 13th 2023.
In the spring of 2023, Jason accepted a job working as an engineer in the ship signatures department for General Dynamics Electric Boat, a company that works on the same projects as the applied research lab at Penn State, where he worked in grad school. Shortly after Jason accepted his job, Rachael accepted a position at the Connecticut Alliance to End Sexual Violence.
Jason and Rachael settled into their new home in Groton Connecticut in July of 2023. They love their community and the new friends we are making. But most of all they love the life they are building together.
This is the part of our love story where all of you come in. We are so thrilled to spend our wedding day with all of you, to celebrate our commitment to spending the rest of our lives with each other.
